West Point, nestled in Wendell, Idaho, is more than just a family restaurant; it’s a haven for travelers and locals alike. Located conveniently near scenic spots like Thousand Springs Hydro Project and Box Canyon, this charming eatery doubles as a grocery store and kayak rental service, making it an ideal pit stop after outdoor adventures.
Customer reviews reflect a consistent theme of warmth and hospitality. Stacy Dutt describes it as a “convenient little restaurant,” while Douglas Wirnowski raves about the “incredible burgers” and expertly cooked sides. The diverse menu offers unique burger options, perfect for satisfying post-hike cravings. Kenny highlighted the inviting atmosphere, likening it to a “mom and pop restaurant” where the friendly service stands out.
But it’s not just the food that captures the heart; it’s the charm of the setting. With the backdrop of nature, diners often spot bald eagles while enjoying their meals. After hiking, “Always Be Creative” noted that the burgers are not just good but wonderfully memorable, encouraging others to stop by. Overall, West Point is a delightful blend of comfort, flavor, and local spirit, making it a must-visit on your travels through Idaho.

Convenient little restaurant and store located in the middle of nowhere by Thousand springs hydro project and Ritter Island and Box canyon. This place has a grocery store , kayak rentals , a bar and a restaurant they are open 7 days a week.

Lovely! Friendly! tasty! Stopped hoping for some eagles, and Randy was quick to greet and offer advice. Also commented on their great burgers. So... we had to stay! Incredible burgers, onion rings/tots/fries all cooked to perfection, and a decent list of cold beer. Met Roy, a fixture/local. Definitely coming back!

Good food, service, and dozens of bald eagles. What more could you want? Some really different and delicious burger options.

Stopped in after a nice morning hike and had to check out and support the local eatery! Nice little spot off the road with a down home, local atmosphere that feels like a little mountain town diner. They have good prices and the burgers are delicious, ordered "that one" burger and it was wonderful for lunch! With fries to match, thick and thin! Definitely stop by on your way through to grab a bite or maybe just a drink from the convenient store side of it!

Nice little mom and pop restaurant and bar combined with convenience store. Service was great and friendly! Food is a little expensive for what it is, but it’s good and the only thing to eat in that area for quite a ways. Also VERY close to some beautiful parks and hiking. I stayed in their Harvest Host spots behind the building, and they are doing a great job of sprucing the place up! I would gladly stay again :) thank you!

April 2, 2024 We stopped in for dinner. This was our first time here. The food was amazing! Home cooked and delicious. Shout out to the young lady working there. She was doing everything and never missed a beat. We will definitely be back!! As a business owner I understand how hard it is to find good, hard working help. Give this young lady a raise!!!

Small but unique little stop. There were two ladies working, both were very nice. The burgers were delicious (as well as the ranch). I do recommend the onion rings too.

The food was SO good!! The staff was friendly (my only complaint- they only had one guy up front. He was running around doing his very best! But I think 1-2 more workers could have been helpful!). I am a ranch connoisseur and the ranch here was some of the best!!! 10/10 would eat here again and would recommend it to a friend.
